Systematic training for body and mind

The Pilates Method is a holistic body training for muscle strength, fitness, coordination and body awareness. Its focus lies on strengthening the body’s “powerhouse”, or core, and the musculature around the spine. It also includes stretching exercises and breathing techniques.

For every age and every body type

All the movements are done in a slow and flowing way. Pilates is therefore suited to everyone: young and old, athletes, pregnant women, and people in rehabilitation for accident or illness. Training is done on specially developed Pilates apparatus or on the mat, and must be carefully supervised for optimal results.

The method was developed by Joseph Pilates (1883–1967). You can read more about its history.
